Mount Apo is 2954 metres high and still covered with a substantial amount of virgin tropical forest. It is one of the last strongholds of the critically endangered Philippine Eagle. many of the lowest slopes have been cleared for plantations, and there is some illegal logging which threatens this fragile and precious ecosystem. {next}
