Hi, this is David and Ivy Bell.
David is English, and comes originally from Newcastle upon Tyne in the North of
England. Ivy is Filipina, coming originally from Malabuyoc on the island of Cebu,
but her family is now in Davao City on Mindanao. We met in the Philippines when David
was on holiday, and got married in April 2001. We had our
honeymoon in Los Banos,
on the shore of Laguna de Bay in Luzon. Ivy joined David in England in August.
Shortly afterwards, we held a service of blessing for our wedding, a good excuse
for David's English relatives & friends to meet Ivy. Our son
Charles was born in
November 2002. David also has a daughter, Georgina, from his previous marriage;
she was born in 1990, and is at school in Oakham in the county of Rutland in
central England. We live in a village near Cambridge, on the Eastern side
of England.
Ivy first thought of this website
in 2003, as a convenient way of keeping in touch with her family in the
Philippines and friends around the
world, and to try a new challenge. Having
Charles delayed the project for a while, but we eventually got started in Summer
2004. Our having no prior experience of website design proved no barrier, thanks
to some helpful advice from friends and visitors to the site. You see the result
